Hardy-Weinberg principle states that allele Frequencies of a population remain constant generation after generation if the population is large and there is no external influences like genetic drift, natural selection, migration ,immigration etc.
There are 7 assumptions of Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium ,
Organism is diploid.
Random mating.
Population is large.
Allele Frequencies are equal in the sexes.
Sexually reproducing organisms.
Non overlapping generation.
No migration, natural selection or sexual selection.
A population must obey this 7 assumptions if it is in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium.
PV92 is an Alu sequence on chromosome 16. It is a transposeable element. PV92 is a human specific dimorphic Alu insertion. This alu elements used for DNA identification, inheritance pattern of genetic disorders, genetic mapping.
PV 92 genetic system has two alleles + and - . + indicating presence and - indicating absence. So there will be 3 genotypes : + +, + - and - -
Two form of this genotype is useful to calculate with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium.
