Is the charge of the capacitor at the beginning of each cycle (starting from the lowest voltage)? Explain in terms of the voltage increase and flow of charges?
How could the value of an unknown capacitance be determined using the experimental procedures?
This is the simple charging phenomena here with derivation. (this is what you mean by first line as its incolpmete)
from that equation it is clear that
charge iwill exponentially increase and current will exponentially decrese
and the voltage across the capacitor V = qC , which is proportional to charge
so it will also increase.
How could the value of an unknown capacitance be determined using the experimental procedures?
Step 1 - connect the capacitor to baattery and a resistor
Step 2 - Switch on the key
and measure the current using ammeter.
Step 3 - Note down the time when the current is nearly stable
like almost 0.
Step 4 - you have resistor value , and voltage of battery, calculate the max value of Current.
step 5 - Calculate voltage across capacitor using voltmeter at the time the current is nearly 0.
use this formula let le show you.
Io is current at t= 0 which is Io = E/R where E battery voltage
R- resistor applied.
take any value of i at any time t using ammeter
put that inn equation
and find C
done
and then varify
with voltage
of the capacitor.
