Some writers argue that labor-management negotiations should do more than resolve the issues at hand and should seek to create a more cooperative relationship.

Critique these arguments. What problems do you see with this recommendation? How can these problems be overcome? Or, should negotiators stick to negotiating the problem at hand, and not worry about the relationship?

ANSWER

As per the information provided in the question ''some writers argue that labor-management negotiations should do more than resolve the issues at hand and should seek to create a more cooperative relationship''. In my opinion labor-management negotiations are very important for the organization because labor is one of the most important part of the organization. It is necessary for the negotiators of the company to resolve the labor issues within time because it can create a huge problem for the organization in future. Labor issues can raise the disagreement among the employees of the organization. And strategies and goals of the company affected due to this. As per my recommendations I would say that it is necessary for the management to take corrective measure for resolving all the issues of the labor. If negotiators resolves the labor issues then it can create a really good image of the management in the eyes of the labor and it seeks to create a more cooperative relationship between the management and labor union of the organization. I should suggest that organization should focus on resolving labor issues and negotiate the problem at hand because it helps in creating strong relationship between the organization and labor. On the other hand if in the company there is delay is resolving the labor issues and negotiators are not able to provide solutions to the labor problems then it can affect the relationship between labor and organization. So we can say that negotiations between the management and labor pays very important role in the growth and development of the company. So in my opinion negotiators should stick to negotiating the problem at hand it helps in increasing the effectiveness and productivity of the labor that is most for the organization in the accomplishment of the mission and vision of the organization.
