' MY SISTER'S KEEPER ' (2009) is an American film based on eleventh novel by American author - JODI PICOULT .It is a story depicting emotional journey of a family with cancer. Anna Fitzgerald 13years old who Sue's her parents for medical emancipation.Her sister Kate have acute leukemia. and Anna has undergone countless surgeries and medical procedures in her short life , and later she discover she was supposed to donate a kidney to her elder sister Kate who is dying from acute leukemia.
MORAL ISSUES -. There is conflict of interest between Anna and her mother . Sara , who is making decisions to save one daughter in expense of her other's daughter body Anna's mother has a right to make medical decision for her .but moral says that Anna cannot be forced to have any more surgeries.And donate organs.
BIOETHICAL ISSUES -. 'CAPACITY OF MINORS '-. This movie raises the question of living organ donation among minors. It raises the issue of consent of minor on organ donation. It raises the conflict of interest between patients approval and minor autonomy in consent . Minors should have the right to take decision in the issues like organ donation.
ETHICAL ISSUES - ETHICS OF BREEDING- There was violation of legal and medical ethics by physician and the parents cannot force a child to be a loaner of sick siblings . The minor cannot be used as a supplier of organs.
RIGHT OF MINOR - In this movie , the ethical issues raised about the right of minor where Anna gets the services of a lawyer to bring a care for partial termination of parental rights.
This film raises many ethical issues which are need to be as a matter of concern.As in the end Anna concludes that she was not born merely to save her sister, she was born because she had a sister, and that their relationship continues even in death.
