Suppose that a consume has a health insurance program with $10 co-payment per doctor visit. If the consumer purchases 6 doctor visits and the bill charged by the Doctor for 6 visi $360the cost per visit paid by a third party is:
As co- payment is the amount that is paid by the insured person in the health insurance,
so for 6 visits, total cost paid by consumer = 10*6 = $ 60
then total cost paid by third party ( insurance company)
= 360-60
= $ 300 for 6 visit
.
now cost paid per visit by third party = 300/6
= $ 50
