It is very important for nurses to follow culturally competent practices in health care services. Cultural competence of appropriate religious and cultural practices of individual people helps to promote safe patient care. When interviewing a patient of a young adult of the Hindu faith, the nurse first needs to assess the beliefs and practices of the individual. Initiate the interview with a greeting of namaste which is agreed in Hindus. They more expect of respect and virtues. Make the interview process slowly and patiently as hurrying of interview considered as rude by the Hindu people.
