10)

When the directions of current and magnetization are usually parallel to each other in ferromagnetic metals, the resistance becomes maximum, and when they are perpendicular to each other, the phenomenon becomes minimum. In the multilayer thin film structure separated by the ferromagnetic metal thin film, A magnetoresistance change may occur. This phenomenon is called (________) and occurs by (________) electron scattering

Expert Solution

When the directions of current and magnetization are usually parallel to each other in ferromagnetic metals, the resistance becomes maximum and when they are perpendicular to each other ,the phenomenon become minimum .In the multilayer thin film structure separated by the ferromagnetic metal thin film. This phenomenon is called GMR(Giant magnetoresistance )effect and occurs by spin dependent electron scattering

This effect is the term for the sudden change in magnetoresistance (Sudden dip for parallel orientation of current and magnetic field (about 10% - 80% decrease) in multilayer systems separated by ferromagmetic metals

This drop of resistance is due to the saturation of magnetization of the multilayer due to aligning of the magnetic moment with magnetic field

Similar sudden change is seen for perpendicular orientation , but here there happens a similar increase

Hope it helps .....And if it does plz give thumbs up
