Expert Solution

It is very important for the healthcare provider to provide care which is culturally appropriate for the patient and this is the most difficult part too . Like in the case discussed above as the family belong to Jehovah's ,their culture does not accept blood transfusions in medical care . And the patient needs blood transfusion to save her life . Now the healthcare workers are in ethical delimma about what to do for the patient.

Ethical decision making process includes the following steps :-

1. identify the ethical dilemma or problem

( To provide blood or not )

2. gather the facts

( Facts about their culture , patients hemodynamic condition )

3. List the options/alternatives

( What other options are available other than blood transfusion or any alternative solution for their cultural belief)

4. apply ethical principles to the options

( Ethical principle - Beneficence and Non - malificence )

5. choose best option and implement the decision

(Blood transfusion in this case , making them understand the importance of it )

6.evaluate

( Evaluation of the implementation )
