It is well known that increasing room illumination up to some level increases reading comprehension. A random sample of 10 sixth-grade students read standardized passages under two levels of ambient room illumination: 5 foot candles and 15 foot candles (more candles, more light). The order in which the conditions were presented was randomized and reading sessions were separated by an interval of 2 hours. A higher score reflects better reading comprehension. Test this well-known belief.
