a) Explain how positive and negative feedback mechanisms work.
?b) Which mechanism is more common in animals? (1 mark)?
c) Why is one mechanism more common than the other in animals?
Positive feedback is a procedure that occurs in a remarks loop wherein the consequences of a small disturbance on a system include an increase inside the significance of the perturbation, that is, a produces greater of b which in flip produces extra of a, in assessment, a system in which the outcomes of an exchange act to lessen or counteract it has terrible comments.
In biology, this system work as the onset of contractions in childbirth, known as the Ferguson reflex. Whilst a contraction occurs, the hormone oxytocin causes a nerve stimulus, which stimulates the hypothalamus to produce extra oxytocin, which increases uterine contractions. This results in contractions growing in amplitude and frequency.
Negative Feedback- Negative Feedback happens whilst some feature of the output of a device, manner, or mechanism is fed returned in a manner that tends to lessen the fluctuations in the output, whether because of changes in the input or by different disturbances.
For hormone secretion regulated by means of the negative feedback: whilst gland x releases hormone x, this stimulates goal cells to launch hormone y. when there is an extra of hormone y, gland x "senses" this and inhibits its launch of hormone x.
PART B- NEGATIVE feedback is more common in the animal.
Part C- Negative feedback work as a reducing output and it is more important in the animal because it helps in temperature regulation that is homeostasis.
