Briefly describe PTSD Address one of the following questions in a brief essay:
a) What role does stress and resilience play in developing PTSD?
b) Can treatment be provided while trauma events are ongoing—what are the pros and cons of doing so and modifications if any that need to be made to treatment?
c) Find two treatment approaches for PTSD, describe the suitability for different types of trauma and for different populations?
PTSD: PTSD is an abbreviation for post traumatic stress disorders. This is a condition of mental health that would be triggered via a terrifying event in the life of a person. They would either be experiencing the event or would be witnessing the event. There may be some symptoms, that include nightmares, flashbacks, severe anxiety and thoughts that are uncontrollable about a particular event.
A) the individuals who would be more prone to violence. People who would be victims of child abuse would be predisposed in development of PTSD. Resilience is identified as the ability of a person to be maintains the normal stela’s even after difficult circumstances would be coming forward. This is also one of the significant factors of whether a person would be developing PTSD. Many people would be able to maintain resilience when after they experience traumatic events.
These individuals would be more creative, or independent as well as outgoing for the friends who would be less resilient. With increased stress, resilience becomes more difficult.
