The first fifteen countries to join the European Union were Austria,Denmark,France , Finland,Belgium,Ireland ,Italy,Luxembourg,Portugal ,The Netherlands,Germany,Greece,Spain,Sweden and Uk.
The major objective of the European Union was to form a unified financial system with single currency.Though most of the member nations of EU agreed Euro as their official currency some of the member nations opposed. Those member nations which do not adopt Euro as their official currency are UK,Denmark and Sweden. There are at present 27 countries in EU and out of which 9 of them are not in Eurozone and are not willing to adopt Euro as their official currency. Those 9 countries are Bulgaria,Crezh Republic,Hungary,Croatia,Denmark,Romania,Sweden ,Uk and Poland. These countries are not willing to adopt Euro as their official currency due to various issues like setting of monetary policy, modulating inflation ,handling national debt etc.
Out of the fifteen members of European Union UK has decided to leave the European Union. This decision of UK to leave EU is also known as Brexit.Eventhough Britian decided to join the EU in 1973 UK never fully accepted the European control over British institutions.Eurosketicism of 2008 was one of the main reasons for UK's decision to leave the EU.All of the member nations of EU were badly hit by this recession in 2008.UK was against the liberal rules for internal migration.UK supported their decision to leave the EU by stating that leaving EU was best option for UK to regain their control over borders and immigrations
