Solutions

Expert Solution

1. Body Mass Index(BMI) can be calculated using the below formula

BMI = weight in Kg/ Height in metre square

Given that, weight of the Mr. Hussain is 205lbs

Height of the Mr.Hussaim is 5' 7''

1 pound = 0.453592

Therefore, 205 pound = 205 × 0.453592

= 92.98636

~93

Height = 5'7"

1foot = 0.3048m

1inch = 0.0254m

Therefore, to find out height in metre

5 feet + 7 inches

= 5× 0.3048 + 7 × 0.0254

= 1.7018 m

So, Body mass index

= 93/2.8961232

= 32.11189313891

=32.1 kg/m^2

BMI can also be calculated using the formula

BMI = 703 × weight(Ibs)/ Height ( inch)^2

Weight = 205Ibs

Height = 5'7"

1 foot = 12 inch ; 5 foot = 60 inch

Total height = 60 + 7 = 67 inch

Therefore, BMI = 703 × 205/(67)^2

= 703 × 205/4489

= 32.10403207

= 32.1kg/m^2
