Why is it important to for environmental quality and beneficial social effects to be designated as formal objectives in the planning process?
So far as the environment is concerned , then we can say that our environmemt is our backbone of the economy. Because environment provides us the resources . A good quality environmennt leads to a better economy. The concern for environmental quality should be considered. It is neccesary for every nation to take care of the resources and not to overexploit them. If the resources get depleted it will eventually affect the production in the economy. There are many reasons of how an economy is benefited by a good quality environment. Let me metion a few of them.
Firstly , environment provides us raw materials for our production. It could be agricultural or natural raw materials needed in production of goods. Secondly, environmental factors are responsible for the maintenence of the resources. Like water is a resource it is neccesary for production . Global warming is putting this under threat. Similarly protection of wild life. Providing better environment , good air and water for labours. They can work efficiently by giving these facilities. Environmental economics is a brach of economics which takes care in all these aspects of environmental related economic issues. So in a contries economic planning importance to quality of environment and social benefits should be considered. It should equal importance like any other economic policies.
Similary, importance of social benefits should be considered. After all state is for the welface of society. The economic decisions and policies should be in favour of the society. It may benefit groups of people or different sociaties. But iverall it contributes to the development of an economically both socially and economically.
