yes, I agree with the statement that immigration reform is needed for the benefit of the United States. the reason is this that if UNited States allow for the immigration then there will be more production of those products that requires more skills. in this way we will be able to export more to the world market. if we do not allow the immigration then world market in those sectors will be captured by some other countries. or atleast we will face severe compition in world market. hence allowing for the mobility of the factors of the inputs is in the interest of the United States. anyway, if firms here do not find immigration useful then they will not demand skilled workers. in this way opening the economy for immigation will not have any bad effect on United States. on the top of this if countrymen of United States are not acquiring skill but they are getting job in the skilled oriented sectors then they are making industry efficient in the world market. may be because of opening of the economy for the immigration will make countrymen more skilled because of competition.
