Expert Solution

Yes Definitely “Blurred Lines” decision appears to have set a new precedent in the area of music copyright law. Did this precedent broaden the scope of copyright protection for songs,

See Every Coin has two side one is good another is bad, like that Music copyright law is definitely good to protecting music instruments, lyrics, Part, chorus, to piracy, See as per United States Federal Law under there is Constitution for Intellectual Property Violation Act, Where Support for Copyrights, Trademark, Patent, and Trade Secret, Here you Violated Copyrights protect creators of original works such as Photographs, art Music, Ideas of Music, and Also Copyrights some Important steps, Also Without Permission of Williams and Tickle or their Client, After Copyright of   "Blurred Lines" Which is Violation of Intellectual Property-Copyrights Which is generally last for the owner’s lifetime plus 70 years.

Williams and Tickle Already Registered "Blurred Lines" Copyrights, Stolen and make same version of it, is Violation of Intellectual Property- Copyrights, That why USA Gove in 2015 Create Music Copyright Law. Which really helpful to Protect Music copyrights.

But also It create limitation as per article “Copyright Lawsuit Boom” it create fear in industry Artist said always have fear of copyright claim, and they said most of background music and instruments sound like same which already used, that why court said them check it two to three time before release,

I think piracy of music increase tremendously in world and in USA after Music copyright law, it can be stopped, cause artist spend millions of dollars on it, and copyrighter just copy it and sell it, and earn more revenue, most of time before launch original music, copy sales in market, if Music is registered them this type of activity cant stop before, but after USA Music copyright act or law it can be possible to protect copyrights and also can stop these type of illegal sale, that why Precedent broaden the scope of copyrights pretention, it will narrow industry and artist thinking, and their ideas, if, then they have to crate new idea and music, Lyrics, chorus, and all compare to released,

“Emily Warren, a songwriter who’s worked with the likes of Shawn Mendes and Dua Lipa, released a song with a country artist that had a similar chorus to a pop song released at the exact same”

Here in Both songs chorus was same and both artist realised it was, after released it, But if Both songs released on same time then there is no issue of copyrights, that’s why, no fear of copyrights and most of time professional artiest don’t claim about copyrights claim, that why industry have to work as before, don’t have to keep fear of Music copyrights Law, only have to keep its guidelines., and always try to create New Music, instrument, chorus, background music and all, Protection is important for Music, and Music copyrights law definitely scope for music protection.
