Affordable care act is a U.S healthcare reform signed into law by president Obama on march,2010.It seeks to broaden and improve the scope to accessible healthcare for american citizens. The main aim of this act is to ensure thet american citizens are able to access affordable health insurance, the overall quality of it improves through regulatory impositions.I personally think that this act is successfully implemented eventhough there are some cons related to it.The Affordable care act does lot of important things ,
PROS:The biggest benefit gained is that it does ,infact lower overall health costs. It makes preventive care free so patients receive treatment before needing to visit an emergency room and the expenses that incur as a result.Insurance has been provided to millions of people and plans to cover new main health benefits including treatment for mental health addiction and chronic disease. The strict regulations now do not allow insurance companies to deny anyone coverage for pre existing conditions, raise premiums when they actually get sick.Parents can include their children on healthcare plans.
CONS:Strong public opposition is done.Insurance costs continue to meteoric rise by raising taxes ,forcing high risk patients into pooled plans. One of the loopholes that is damaging to the implementation of obamacare is the ability of states to refuse set up a state health insurance exchange and instead leave it up for the federal government to run them.Over half of the states have chosen not to run a state exchange.Inability to alter the bills.
