2.To promote regional peace

3.Provide mutual assistance on matters of common interest.

4.Provide collaboration in cases of common interests.

5.To provide assistance among member nations in the form of training and research.

6.Provide resources for better utilization of agriculture as well as industries in order to raise the standard of living among member nations.

7.It also aims at providing assistance in south Asian studies.

Risks-

1.The infrastructure of ASEAN is inoperative.Around 60 billions dollars is required to address this infrastructure defect.

2.Natural disasters-The south asian nations are prone to natural disasters due to their geographical location.Natural disasters cause a lot of loss to life and capital.
