Explain your role as a medical assistant regarding the importance of risk management in a healthcare setting?
Medical assistant is an allied health professional who helps in working of physician and other professionals working in health care setting and handle clinical duties.
The risk management in health care is the system that prevent risks in health care institution by regular monitoring , assessing, mitigating the health care facilities.
ROLE -
1. PATIENT's SAFETY AND REDUCTION IN MEDICAL ERRORS -. By employing risk management , medical assistant can proactively and systematically safeguard patient safety like regular monitoring patients health , maintaining electronic records of patients.
2. REGULAR MONITOR AND REVIEW THE RISKS-. Medical assistance can regular monitor the basic clinical tasks such as administering medication, assisting physical examination and patient education .
3. Education and Training of new employees and annual review and compettency validation to avoid risk of mismanagement and conflicts
4. Handle patient and family grievance and promote satisfaction and responding to patients complaints to avoid risks of patients dissatisfaction
5. Contingency plans for emergency preparedness like disease outbreaks , long -term prevention to meet any emergency in future.
