Nurses responsibility in administration medications to patients:
Administration medications to patients is an act during this process identified drug are given to a patient in the form of single dose.
Administrated drug to the patients should be compliance with federal laws, local and state government.
The nursing director was mainly responsible for an accurate and precise drug administration to the patient.
The nurse should check the physician’s order before administering medications and the medication purpose.
Nurse should record the last dose given time, age and diagnosis of patient.
Nurse should discuss the medication needs and explain the procedure to the patient.
After the drug preparation the drugs are should be administered as soon as possible.
Assist the sitting position of the patient if it is necessary and Stay with the patient until swallow medicine.
After proper drug administration the nurse should check any contraindications present (Vomiting, nausea, unconsciousness, etc)
