Perceptions with Obesity
Do a web search for terms such as “fat friendly,” fat friendly doctors,” and “fat positive doctors.” Review a few of the sites you find and discuss the results. Were you surprised at what you found? If so, why? What did you learn about fat friendly versus fat shaming in regards to healthcare professionals? How would you discuss health issues surrounding obesity with the obese patient? Your approach should also consider the patient’s state of mind and personal struggles with weight loss, diet, and/or exercise. Additionally, consider aspects of multiculturalism and diversity when determining your approach. (Not all cultures view body types in the same way.) Explore strategies to optimize patient engagement.

According to American Psychological Association,Obesity is a condition marked by accumilation of body fat, it can be either genetic or behavioural factor.
This obesity can lead to Diabetes,Heart diseases,sleep apnea and other health problems. Eventhough this obesity can be prevented through weight control measures such as understanding and managing behaviors to reduce weight.
Other aspects for obesity are stress,sadness,anxiety and other emotions which causes to overeat.So,learn to handle these psychological issues in healthier way.
Obese people will be even treated epidemic disproportionately especially poorer community.
Obesity can be treated with following steps for all cultures.
In some cultures obesity will be treated as wealthy,whatever it may be the person who is having more Body Mass Index is treated as obese,where weight reduction is advisable.
