Contrast three challenges in conducting evaluations in public health informatics
The term Evaluation is very commonly used but we rarely understood its true meaning and its applied aspects. so overall our improper vision of common understanding and irrelevant application of evaluation basically due to the following problems like...
1. improper use of literature terminology.
2.absence of lack of vision .... from when and where to start and where to finish
3.absence of proper planning regarding ie. how evaluation is linked to the specfic program planning.
4. lack of systamic apporach....
now apart from these above mentioned are there are some more challenges in conducting evaluation in public health informatics
1. complexity of the subject .....basically evaluation in public health informatics requires understanding of computer technology along with knowlwdge of social and behavioral processes which are affected by the technology.
as the subject is copples so it take more time to gather the informations and another issue is that - the information technology can be affected by changes in work prospective.
2. complexity of the project.......Evaluation in public health informatics is usually performed in the real and complex environment like in between administration, physicians, IT staff, nurses, patients, hospital management etc along with external influences dependency as on economic constraints, legislation, or patient oriented.
So the Evaluation can be done from different point prospective such as an economic, psychological, organizational, sociologic, or clinical point of view.
this too much complexicity is often difficult to establish clear-cut evaluation criteria in a particular study.
3. motivation for evaluation......usually in an evaluation process require two imp things
a. when there is sufficient funding.
b. sufficient number of participants
and these two variables depend only on the the motivation of stakeholders (in this case hospital management)
so in last the balance of thest 3 components leads to proper evaluations in public health informatics.
