WHAT IS MEANT BY HEALTHY LIFE EXPECTANCY? It is the average number of years a person can expect to live in good health condition, without any disabilities and with the potential to be physically and socially active.
Ageing is not a sudden change that occurs in a human population but is a progressive changes during adult years. It can involve with superficial changes along with disability, decreased strength and stamina and reduced sensory functions. Also, older ages are always associated with other chronic diseases like stroke, heart diseases, osteoporosis,cancer and dementia. However, recent studies on long and healthy life, researchers found out that, certain genes strongly offer protection against these type of chronic diseases and can live longer.
SOME CONTRIBUTING FACTORS:
Lifestyle choices such as healthy diet, regular exercise and smoking free habits an promote healthy aging, and it is found out that a human being can live longer up to 88 years in developed countries (based on a recent study). The social changes denotes an individual's relationships with other people, changes in emotions and other personality changes. In medical terminology, health is defined a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely an absence of diseases. So, in medical factors, a better immune system can make an individual to live longer to oldest old adult.
