The circulatory system consists of Heart and blood vessels.Arteries and veins constitue Blood vessels. The blood circulation is of systemic and pulmonary.
Heart is a conical hollow and muscular organ situated in the middle mediastinum. It pumps blood to various parts of the body to meet their nutritive requirements. It consists of four Chambers Right and left atria and right and left ventricles.
The arteries carry Oxygen rich blood away from the heart and veins carry Oxygen poor blood back to the heart.
In systemic circulation heart pumps the oxygen rich blood out of the left ventricle into aorta, the aorta further divides into smaller arteries which carry Oxgen to various parts of the body.
Veins carry the deoxygenated blood from the tissues to the heart for reoxygenation.
The arteries and veins are connected through capillaries. The largest vein is the inferior venacava. It carries deoxygenated blood from lower part of the body to the heart.
In pulmonary circulation deoxygentaed blood is taken away from the right ventricle to the lungs. The oxygenated blood is carried back to left atrium and ventricle.
