The base of a right pyramid is an equilateral triangle of perimeter 8 cm and the height of the pyramid is 30√3 cm . Find the area and volume of the pyramid.

The base of a right pyramid is an equilateral triangle of perimeter 8 cm and the height of the pyramid is 30√3 cm . Find the area and volume of the pyramid.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Volume of right pyramid = 1/3 × areaofbase × heightofpyramid

Now, base is equilateral therefore, therefore, area = √3/4( Side )²

Perimeter of triangle = 8cm

∴3a = 8⇒a = 8/3 cm

Area = √3/4 ×(8/ 3 )×( 8 /3)

         = 16√3/9 cm²

Now, Volume =( 1/3 )× ( 16√ 3/9)× (30√3)

= 160 × 3/9 cm³

=  160/3 cm³

Area= 16√3/9 cm²

Volume= 270/3 cm ³
