The presentation Zen aims at getting rid of bad PowerPoint. It means that presenting slides that relate to the concerned topic like a story rather than presenting dry uninspired text that suck the soul right out of the presentation. Slideshows should be engaging for the audience where the speaker should supplement his talks with the slides and not provide all the content. Visually representing one's ideas help in strengthening cognitive processing thus making the content more knowledgeable and more inspiring. Presentation Zen is an approach where there is a balance in the principles of design, the tenets of Zen simplicity, multimedia and cognitive learning theory. The idea here is to keep the presentations simple, balanced, and beautiful. The key principles being: restraint in preparation, simplicity in design and naturalness in delivery. Slides in the presentation should reinforce the speaker's words and tap into people's emotions by making presentation participatory. Therefore if we apply some basic, accessible concepts borrowed from the world of Zen, we can improve our effectiveness and allow our content to connect in more powerful ways.
