Market strategies can be bifercated into Differentiated and Undifferentiated marketing strategies based on the coverage of the market on product basis.
An undifferentiated marketing strategies mainly concentrates on the broad market and plans and targets the production and marketing of entire segments of the market. These markets have one strategy for the whole market and employs a single marketing mix -- one product or service at one price with one promotional plan. These strategies would like to reach the maximum customer base in the target market. For examples, a company producing the garments, aims at the whole market of the garments both male and female genders with one combined promotional efforts.
A differentiated marketing strategies are those marketing strategies which aims at creating those products and services which are specially developed for specific marketing segments or marketing mix. Each segment or mix constitutes a service or product which are placed at a defined price and are promoted in a specialised manner. For example, a company produces the garments and develop a product for the male gender market segments.
