Today many people suffer from IBS and IBD. How do you think this impacts a person's quality of life? Pick a medication and explain the impact this medication can have to improve a person's quality of life. Would it be worth it for an individual to assume the risk of treatment with these medications? In this modern era, these bowel related problems are the most common such as IBS and IBD. These things definitely have an adverse impact on person's quality of life. People are not eating healthy food as well as they are addicted to junk food. Their lifestyles, working hours and their digestive system get worse day by day. IBS effects more than 40 million people of America.
For the treatment of IBS bulking agents such as wheat bran, corn fibre etc can slow the movement of the food through the digestive system. Medication is also given to the patient such as antibiotics i.e rifaxcimin, it changes the number of bacteria in the intestine, but it can treat symptoms up to 6 months and after then if it occurs medication will be repeated. Many people have noticed the changes in thier life with this medicine. Antispasmodic as well as probiotic can be also given.
Now if we talk about the IBD, there are many risk factors which leads to development of these disease such as smoking, age, family history and geographical reasons. There is always risk of treatment for every medications because every medicine has its side effects if used for prolonged time, but for the relief one has to take medication. These can be controlled through chaning lifestyle, including more physical activity and healthy food intake.
