What is cyanoarylate ester? What is it used for? What is the history behind it?
May be there is a spelling mistake it is cyanoacrylate ester. it
is an adhesive known to be superglue.it is used for experimental
surgery of rodents or other animals. Also it is used in forensic
test of finger prints.
chemicals necessary to form cyanoacrylate polymer include ethyl
cyanoacetate, formaldehyde, nitrogen or some other nonreactive gas,
free radical inhibitors, and base scavengers. Ethyl cyanoacetate
comprises ethyl, a hydrocarbon radical (a radical is an atom or
group of atoms that, because it contains an unpaired electron, is
more likely to react with other atoms), cyanide, and acetate, an
ester produced by mixing acetic acid with alcohol and removing the
water
It was initially thought to be not suitable for finger printing but later it is widely used.it react with ammino acids fatty acids and proteins with presence of moisture and produce a visible stitky white material along the ridge of finger
