  • Genetic testing is useful to prevent people from mental pressure and stress by identifying the presence or absence of gene mutation.
  • Genetic conditions may be passed over to future generations. Example : Color blindness, sickle cell anemia
  • Doing genetic testing helps to find out whether the individual is a carrier or not. So there will be a sense of relief if test is found negative. If found positive the individual can choose for other options like prevention, termination, treatment and monitoring .
  • Genetic material of humans are DNA . Genes are made of DNA. Genes are the functional unit of heredity as they are copies of the parents and previous generations.
  • When genetic testing is done prenatally it is easy to take decision about raising a new generation .
  • Genetic testing is not mandatory, it is voluntary.
  • Genetic test gives clear information about any missing genes or any other form of genetic conditions so that we can be mentally and practically prepared.
  • Genetic testing if positive the parents may choose some supportive groups and a good hospital who can guide them in delivering their newborn who has special needs.
