Decision making influence the way supervisors handle various situations in a business process. As we know that a supervisor have to face many types of real problems while performing his own duty in any firm but his solution to particular problem may be different in various conditions due to different decisions taken in these conditions. Hence it is clear that these business decision definitely will show impact on the performance of the supervisors in reality.

Let’s see both given case;

a) Supervisors schedule emplyees for the next month;

Supervisor is authorized to schedule employees for performing some works but how a supervisor will schedule his subordinates? It depends on the decision made by the top management and by the decisions made by the supervisor. If top management has decided to attain a particular task in short period of time then supervisor definitely will adopt strict policy regarding scheduling his subordinate due to strict decisions of top management. If top management took libral decision regarding completion of given task then supervisor will also be more lenient towards scheduling his subordinates.

b) Supervisors have to make adjustments when an employee call in with a family issue and will be out for the next week;

In this case also, decision made by the top managemnet and decision of supervisor will show effect because in case of strict decisions of top level management, supervisor will immediately employ existing employee for finishing task of unavailable employee. If decisions of top management are not much strict then supervisor may be lenient because he can wait till the time of come back of that employee. Hence there will be no extra pressure on existing employees and they will feel relaxed.

Thus it is clear that in each & every condition, way of handling the problems of a supervisor will be affected by the decision making of the various level of management.
