ethics.
- Maintains high level of ethics among
physicians.
- Aims to provide services to society with respect and
dignity.
- It states that physicians are not only responsible to
their patients but also to society and other health
professionals.
FDA:
- Regulates sale of medical devices.
- monitors safety and safeguards all these
devices.
- eg, sale of lasers for lasik surgery.
- They monitor every doctors and their
works.
- Set the amount a doctor can charge.
- A company that wants to sell a particular device must
seek approval from FDA.
- Provides rating for medical devices and promotes rating
systems for this purpose.
- Regulates which new drugs should be allowed in the
market place.
