Explain the different public health approach that is required to respond to a chronic disease verses a disease that is infectious in nature. Be sure to include the reaosns that chronic diseases are becoming more of public health issue than they have been in the past.
The burden of chronic diseases is rapidly increasing worldwide.The chronic disease problem is far from being limited to the developed regions of the world,contrary in which developing countries are increasingly suffering from high levels of public health problems related to chronic diseases.Chronic diseases includes diseases like diabetes,heart stroke and heart diseases,cancer,alzheimers disease,and multiple chronic conditions where as infectious diseases includes Malaria,tuberculosis,hiv/aids,Respiratory infections like pnuemoniaand diarrhoeal diseases.These both types of diseases are becoming more alike as the impact of infectious diseases and chronic disease episodes death rate is increasing proportionally.The public health approach to chronic diseases includes some areas of work:
