Generalized seizures:-   Affect both cerebral hemisphere from the beginning of the seziure. They produce loss of consciousness,either briefly or for a longer period of time,and are sub-categorized into several major types and these are:-

  1. Tonic clonic seziure( Grand mal seziure):- Electrical discharges in stantaneously invovle the entire brain. The person loses conciousness right from the beginning of the seizure and there is no evidence that tonic-clonic seizures causes brain damage.
  2. Absence seizure( petit mal seizure);- In this epileptic activity occur throughout the brain. In this it may look like person is day dreaming. And mostly occur in children.
  3. Atonic seizure(drop atteck):- In this there is no convulsion,but children may hit their head as they fall. Absence of movement ,loss of muscle tone.
  4. Myoclonic seizure:- Muscles stiffness, jerky movements,stiffness of extremities, patient can fall over on the ground.

So, in this Simple partial is not an example of Generlized seizure. Simple Partial seizure come under another classification of the seizure in this type the signal arising from the specific part of the brain. And there is no interruption in conciousness.
