Seizure signs and symptoms depends on which part of the brain is affected. Its a sudden burst of electrical activity in the brain. Some seizures cause the body to jerk and in other cases there is loss of consciousness and unusual symptoms. Seizures will go away within few minutes or sometimesnit will last more than 15 minutes also.

Simple partial seizures cause tingling sensation in hands and legs, feeling of dejavu, stiffness or twitching of arm or hsnd, unusual smell or taste etc. These type of seizures are called aura or warning because sometimes it is preceded by other type of seizures. The person will be conscious in this.

In complex partial seizures consciousness will be lost and person will make random movements like lip smacking, rubbing fingers, chewing etc and loss of.memory about the event.

Another type is tonic clonic seizures or grand mal seizures.

Tonic stage - loss of consciousness, body stiff and fall to the ground

Clonic stage - jerking of limbs, loss of bladder and bowel control, tongue biting and difficulty in breathing occurs.

Status epilepticus is seizures lasting for long duration and person will not regain consciousness for long hours.its considered as a medical emergency and treatment need to be started immediately.
