Hypothesis: 'the religious and cultural barrier stops the Muslim women from having breast cancer screening with mammography and this leads to an increased prevalence of breast cancer among the Muslim women of the USA'

ANSWER A) The problem that is being investigated in the above hypothesis is the increased prevalence of breast cancer among muslim women in USA due to their cultural and religious barriers.

The prevalence of breast cancer among the Muslim women of USA has increased which is due to the fact they these Muslism women underutilize mammography. The lack of cultural accomodation hinders the Muslim women's utilization of mammography services. When the breast cancer screening program are not structured according to the Islamic beliefs and customs, Muslim women choose not to participate. Some women holds fatalistic belief that a person's health is out of her own control and determined by God. Some women have concern regarding presence of female technicians to perform mammography, while some fear if mammography is a painful procedure..

ANSWER B) The gap in knowledge that exist among these women is about the fact that mammography is screening technique which is painless. It is performed by a female technician as needed. This technique will prevent them from developing life threathening cancer in its initial stage itself. Yes God is the supreme power who controls and cures diseases but He performs miracles through treatment measures too. Some of the concepts as stated above should be changed.

The other question that I would be investigating is that " What cultural accomodations needs to be adopted in mammography services that will result in increased participation of the Muslim Women of USA ?"  

ANSWER C) The other sub question to the question above can be "Will adequate health education among the Muslim women provoke increased utilization of mammography?"
