perform a Crossed Gage R&R taking as pieces 12 coins,
4 pennys, 4 nickels, and 4 dimes)
• Will do two repetitions for each piece
• You will use three people to make the measurements
• Use two instruments to carry out the measurements

how do i asign runs for this in minitab

Solutions

Expert Solution

Initially create a Gauge r&R worksheet by following the path: Stat>Quality Tools>Gauge Study>Create Gauge R&R study worksheet.

Fill the following details of No.of parts, No.of operators and No.of replications.

Select options menu and click on Randomize runs with operators.

Even though Minitab provides different ways to randomize runs, The Randamize runs with operators is perferable and mostly used.

In this type of randamisation, The operator A measures all the 12 parts and then Operator B performs the same measurement followed by Operator C.

In case of repetations the same sequence is followed.

Totalm Parts, No.of operators & Replications gives a total of 72 runs.

Incase the 2 instruments used are different, Perform the same operation with 2 instruments and we can view the results if the real time data is captured by adding a 4th column Dimensions in the above data.

WE can view the output by following the path : stat>quality tools>gauge study>gauge R&R study crossed.

Enter the data from the above worksheet and get the result.
