The armistice was signed between the Central Powers and the Allies. Turkey signed at the end of October of that year, Austria-Hungary on November 3, and Germany concluded the signing, ending the war on the 11.

Germany had sent the Zimmerman Telegraph to Mexico to convince Mexico to invade the United States. The Us intercepted the telegraph.

German had sunk the RMS Lusitania and killed several Americans.
