1)Elizabeth Mulder, who embezzled $1.5 million from six businesses in and around Laguna Beach Ca. Penalties include a fine of up to $15,000, between five and 20 years in prison, or both.
2)Some tips for victims from my side to check cash embezzlement would be
1. Analyze financial statements and other accounting documents for unexplained changes in profit. Look for unexplained expenses recorded on the books. Expenses reduce the amount of net income. Check expense reports turned in by employees to verify that all reimbursements of expenses are approved by authorized personnel.
2. Look at recent and past bank records and credit card statements. Bank and credit card records show all of a company’s payments made to vendors. A sign of embezzlement is if your accounting records fail to balance with the information listed on your bank and credit card statements.
3. Pull accounting documents and look for any unexplained changes. Look for changes in vendor information and additional unapproved vendors. Check the address of vendors and employees to see if any match.
3)In my openion she should be sentenced to jail as this is an act of fraud.Fraud is a deceptive act by one person, group, or organization that causes another to part with something of value or to surrender a legal right.
