Expert Solution

West Indians in America played significant roles in the liberation of African Americans in attaining justice, liberty, and equality. The radicals and Group Soul played substantial roles in the realization of the set objectives by the activists. The radicals mainly consisted of the Pan-Africanists; these are primarily influential Africans within the African continent and African origin activists residing in the diaspora (Rush & Anne). These comprised Du Bois and Marcus Garvey; in collaboration with West Indians, they held conferences that agitated freedom of the African Americans and the rights of Africans all over the world.

West Indians adopted publications that criticized discriminative leadership in public utilization of resources and administrative offices. The African Americans were racially discriminated in the use of public utilities like transport means; the radicals championed opposition of the regimes and insisted on equality regardless of race.  In 1926, the concept of group Soul was coined by W.E.B. Du Bois a top African American activist (Johnson & Violet, 2006). The article emphasized bringing together more than 160 works carried out by the African Americans between 1963 and 1983.

The works in the document comprised sculptures, paintings, and photographs; these arouse tension between the politics and aesthetics championed by Du Bois fifty years earlier. The collaborative nature of activists ensured that liberation was supported through artwork's impacts; the efforts realized were coined through the political perspective, economic pressures, and social restrictions. These resulted in dawning on the essence of equality and justice regardless of race; this resulted in opposition to slavery, which mainly insisted on residents of African origin.
