OBJECTIVES

In this paper you will create a small case or use a situation/problem from real life. You will discuss this situation together with a discussion that
works through a solution of your own to the problem posed. Problems or issues from your own work (e.g., service operations or overhead functions) can be excellent situations, although they need not be chosen.

In the first part of the paper you should specify the situation, while in the second part of the paper you should work out what you personally and professionally see as its solution.

Any type of operations management problem can be chosen, from line balance to job design to new equipment justification to quality problems to whatever operational options can be associated with the case.

Present your case study and solution in a 3-4 page Word document formatted in APA style.

Please submit your assignment.

Case

ASICS America corporation will pay $49,650 to a former employee to setlle a disability discrimination lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). In this company, a staffinge agency assigned a worker with hearing and speech disabilityies to work at ASICS's warehouse. After the worker's meeting , members of ASICS's human resources department said that they can't employ the lady due to her disabilities and failed to engage in the interactive process with the worker.

Problem

This alleged conduct violates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The company had not reviewed and revised the written policies on disability discrimination. This creates the disparity among disables and company.

Solution

The Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) ensures that people with disabilities hae an equal opportunity to achieve success in the workplace. Employers should know about the employment hanbook policies, rules. They need to update time to time with the supervisors, managers, and employees so that new guidelines implemented as soon as possible. ASIC will pay the former employees $10,000 in back pay and $39,650 in compensatory damages. And it is also agreed to implement non-monetary remedies . And it is providing training to all managers and human resources employees on disability discrimination and reasonable accomodations.

ADA is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, trasportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose is that disable person have the same rights, and opportunities as everyone else. The ADA gives civil rights protections to individuals with disabilities similar to those provided to individuals on the basis of race, sex, national origin, age, and religion.

When someone (called a patron in library terms) borrows a book, the system checks his or her library card to ensure that it is still valid and...
