MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING: is an approach that aims to engage client's intrinsic motivation to change their behavior. PRINCIPLES OF MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING: 1. Expressing empathy and understanding patient's perspective. 2. develop discrepancy between clients goals and on their current behavior 3. motivational interviewing helps in avoiding argument. 4. It makes the client to adjust with the situation than opposing directly. 5. It makes them to support self-efficacy and optimism. 6. recognizing patient changes in their lives have different levels of readiness to change their behavior. MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING IMPACT ON TEACHING, GUIDING AND COACHING THE PATIENT: The systemic provision of education and supportive interventions is to increase patients skills and confidence in managing their health problems, including regualr assessment of progress and problems, goal setting and problem solving support. The importance of implementing interventions as intended has increased pressure for instructional support providers. Coaching has emerged to support the successful deployment of evidence-based interventions. Coaching models can be compared and contrasted by the skills required to complete their daily activities. This guidance helps them to increase their confidence with which the supervisor helps to approach the changing process.
