The word ''enteric'' represent something relating or occuring in the small intestine.The enteric medication are the ones with enteric coating which can transmit through the stomach and relase medicine in the small intestine.

ENTERIC PATHOGENS OF CONCERN

There are many enteric bacteria or Gut flora present in our intestine which are usually harmless.Enteric pathogens are the ones cause infection to the body by affecting the gut the common symptom of enteric infection is diarrhea.These enteric pathogens span from different genera like Escherichia,Salmonella,Shigella,Yersinia,Vibrio and Campylobacter.The enteric infection can become fatal in some case like Typhoid fever is caused by bacteria called Salmonella typhi, the infection will lead to high fever with chills,diarrhea,vomiting and become fatal.An other bacteria which cause fatal disease is Vibrio cholerae.that lead to cholera in human beings with severe diarrhea and dehydration,cholera is highly fatal if not treated in right way.

The enteric infections are highly contaminated and contagiuos in common which demand high concern in medical setting to prevent cross infection in patients and get transmitted through the health worker.

THE PREVENTIVE MEASURES FOR TRANSMISSION OF INFECTION IN HEALTH SETTING

  1. Wash hands properly.
  2. Wash soiled linen or articles .
  3. Disinfect the contaminated surface .
  4. Isolate or limit the multiple health care provider with infected patinets.
