What is meant by the term ‘lobbying’?
Lobbying any attempt by individuals or private interest groups to influence the decisions of government, in its original meaning it referred to efforts to influence the the votes of legislators, general in the lobby outside the legislative chamber . Lobbying in some form is inevitable in any political system
Different methods for lobbying the government
There are various ways of lobbying trying to influence policy maker from inside (working together with them on your issue) consultations, conference, public meetings, lobbying in face-to-face meetings, and wirrten or telecom telephone communications
Example of lobbying
An officer Duke writes to a member of Congress urging him or her to vote against an amendment that will be offered during the debate on a bill .This constitutes lobbying because it States a view about specific legislation
