According to Erickson psychosocial development theory School aged children central task is the development of sense of industry versus inferiority. School aged child start to trust others and also develops sense of autonomy or independence and take up the initiative to do the work. Fantasy play at preschool age will be replaced with work (crafts, chores, hobbies) at school age.
