1)Benefits of the EHR, EHR is electronic health records and its benefits are to 1) provide accurate, up to date and complete information about patients at the point of care 2) enabling quick access to patient records for more coordinated , efficient use, 3) helping providers more effectively diagnose patients, reduce medical errors, and provide safer care 4) reducing costs through decreased paperwork, improved safety, reduced duplication of testing and improved health. 2) Barriers to EHR:a) Technical ability :computer literacy in healthcare older and rural health care providers may find it difficult for learning the new technology. b)unknown costs and return on investment;it is expensive and capital to invest in the infrastructure, personnel training and support required to install and maintain an EHR system and it also can be barrier for small to midsized practice c) privacy : these EHR can face cyberrattacks, such security breaches could cause substantial harm to patients as well as result in legal issues to providers 3) The benefits of the EHR greatly outweigh the negatives, the significant changes in clinical processes, by this practitioners needed to be educated on the real and angible benefits of the EHR to overcomes the barrier of unwanted process changes, the changes required by theprovider and medical staff
