RIGHT ATRIAL PRESSURE
It is blood pressure in the right atrium of the heart ,it reflects the amount of blood returning to the heart and ability of the heart to pump the blood into aterial system,RAP is often nearly identical to central venous pressure ,although the two terms are not identtical as pressure differential can sometimes exist between vena cava and right atrium.
Factore that increase the RAP
1.HYpervolemia- the fluid overload ,where there is too much fluid in the blood, due to thid there will be increse in intercellular and extracellular body water which will indirectly increase the RAP
2 FORCED exhalation
2Tension pnemothorax
4.HEART FAILURE
The rate of blood flow from higher pressure to lower pressure ,if we increase pressure in the arteries and cardiac function ill not compensate, the blood flow willactually decrease.
blood flow= pressure difference/ resistance
The higher the blood flow rate the pressure difference in artria is more, and if the resistance is more blood will be less and so pressure will be less.
