What has been your experience with the acronym SBAR? If SBAR is new to you, would you consider implementing it in your workplace setting? Give reasons for your answer.
SBAR :-it is an acronym for Situation, Background, Assessment,
Recommendation.
- it is a technique that can be used to facilitate prompt and
appropriate communication.
- It is a way for health care professionals to communicate
effectively with one another, and also allows for important
information to be transferred accurately.
ADVANTAGES OF IMPLEMENTING SBAR:-
- it provides more effective and advanced family and patient
outcomes on pediatric units.
- SBAR increases patient and family satisfaction and also increases
their level of comfort when dealing in abnormal situations.
-it allows patients to ask any questions that they might have, and
to gain exact knowledge of information related to their plan of
care.
- SBAR allows patients to be fully aware of their nurse is on every
shift and this causes to patients sense of comfort.
- it improves the relationship between the doctors and the
nurses.
