What screening interventions are used for adults at risk for chronic diseases?
SCREENING INTERVENTIONS FOR CHRONIC DISEASE:-
(A) FOR CANCER:-
1. Breast cancer:-
-breast self examination
-mammography
2. Cervical cancer:-
-Yearly regular Pap smear test beginning latest age 21.
-At age 30, change to every 2-3 years if had 3 normal Pap tests in a row.
3. Prostate cancer:-
-
Prostate Yearly digital rectal exam (DRE).
(B)CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE:-
1. Coronary heart disease:-
-Exercise stress testing

Hypertension :-blood pressure(BP)reading every 2 years in all adults if <120/80, otherwise yearly.
3.
Dyslipidemia ::Routine screen (TC and HDL-C
4.
Obesity:- All adults screened for obesity (BMI >30kg/m2
and offer counseling and behavioral interventions.
5.Tobacco:- Screen all adults and provide cessation interventions for those who use tobacco.
(C) DIABETES:-
- blood sugar testing
- Screen in presence of hypertension or dyslipidemia to reduce cardiovascular disease risk.
