Read Matthew 5:3-7 (New International Version).
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy."
How will these verses impact your work as a health administrator? How might this, in turn, impact those you serve? Write a one- to two-paragraph reflection that addresses these questions, and provide at least two specific examples of how applying these verses might impact your career.
The above mentioned part of gospel is taken from which is known as eight beatitudes.Interpretation of which can be done as follows.
1.Blessed are the poor in spirit. For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Poor in spirit means those who are not egocentric.Jesus offers them the heaven itself. In anothr way this can be interpreted as 'Be satisfied with what you have. Share the good things we have with others because God wants us to'
2.Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Comfort those who are suffering. Help others feel better about themselves after a loss.
3.Blessed are the meek,
for they will inhert the earth
Humility-a true sense of who you are.Get the ego out of the way.
4.Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for
righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Do what is fair for everyone
5.Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy."
We forgive those who are unkind to us. Look for ways to show kindness to others.
Impact of Beatitudes as a Health Administrator
As a health administrator we are blessed when we treat others with dignity and respect seeing them as the image of God.Whenever, there is lack of time the nurses do not mourn, but spend most of time with the patients with gentle comforting words. So that will be rewarded.Nurses are the group who consider new ideas of better patient care by advocating for their patients and thus they will obtain mercy. They will be satisfied with their profession as they are consistently strive for the excellence, despite the challenges. Those who support and forgive one another and help one another to learn from mistakes, will also be forgiven.Health administrators are blessed as they do it often.
Impact on Patients
Health administrator is the person who is responsible for providing holistic care to her patients. As they pass their healing energy which is a derivative of their dedicated mind's energy field, the impact will be felt in their patients highly when they do it from the heart. This will lead to change the frequency of thier emotions from lower to a bit higher. So they may transform gradually and likely to feel they are worthy.
Career
Health care is a field which demands each worker a lot of
patience and mercy to add in to their lives. It is a call to service
rather than a job and definitely there will be some hardships and
adversities at times in certain aspects. In those circumstances we
can remember these beatitudes to inspire us.For example,as we work
in abusy unit and caring for patients those who need our care,
sometimes, it may be exhausting and may feel tiresome then
remembering beatitudes will console us and will give the strength
to overcome with acceptance.ie.,"Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy."
Sometimes in when handling emergency, nurses may feel extreme hunger and thirst, eventhough they are physical needs this verse helps us to stretch more with this verse.(Because, such situations the priority may be the saving and caring for the patient's life so it demands our sacrifice).
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for
righteousness,
for they will be filled."
